I'd like to add these important events:
When she was 14 she recorded her first song for localavril lavigne life folk singer Stephen Medd's album. The song was Touch The Sky. She later went on to record 2 more songs for his next album. The songs Two Rivers and Hallelujah(Temple of Life) can be found on Youtube.
When she was 16 she perfomed at Chapter's bookstore where she was first noticed by her first proffesional manager Cliff Fabri. He was instumental in getting her signed to Arista.
She moved to New York at the age of 16 with her brother Matt. She tried writing songs with the help of some accomplished songwriters but they cound only manage country-folk and the record company didn't want that so she moved to LA.
It was there that most of Let Go was written. Let Go was released in 2002 and propelled her to stardom.
