I have to talk with my cousins in Egypt online, and it gets pretty awkward and boring sometimes
So can you give me some suggestions on some good conversation starters

you stated the main problem, it is that you "have to talk" not "like to talk". you don't have to do something you don't like. otherwise others will feel it and this will make your image worse. am i right?

but i have to say you are not alone in that, i don't like messenger talk, it makes me feeling that you have to type something now or the other one would think you are bored from him/her.

that's because messenger communicaticonversation questions anythingon is based only on text letters. however in real life even when we are not talking we still communicate through eye and body languages and poses. we whisper, jiggle,and speak out loud.

i recommend you not to go through messenger, and make it through emails, or adding them as a friend of yours in yahoo answers or other like sites. so you will still communicate with them but in a different way that is more appropriate and not pushy on you.

otherwise i advice you to meet them on-line once a week only, so you will have things to share about your whole week, or recent events to discuss
frankly i dnt kno wht Egyptian teenagers are interested in though am a one.But you can always talk about yourself and what u like and let the cconversation questions anythingonvo flows.
oh nd mayb u can talk about the latest movies or songs or ........ .
nd if ur older than them , there's no reason to feel awkward cause they r the ones who will feel awkward.

start by showing your willingness to befriend them.
say some interesting things about yourself , age , career , interests , pastime , a friend you like etc.
they have to know you so that the ice is broken.
