hip hop music equipmentWhat type of equipment would I need to start producing hip hop music?

I just wanted to know what are some basic things that I would need to start making beats. I have a 6,000 dollar budget, and I want to get the most out of the money i use to buy the equipment
6,000 dollars?!?! damn i wish i had your budget!!!

1. Buy Cubase (799.99) *AND* Reason (399.99) cuz u can do damn near anything when you put them together!!!

2. Buy a midikeyboard & controller... M- Audio got a 88 key midi for 199.99 (if 49 or 61 wont do it for you) and the akai mpd24 is the same price

3. Buy some monitors (speakers) M- Audio BX8a monitors go for 499.99 and from what i've heard they pretty good

**BONUS**: if you want you could get a workstation (like the triton, fahip hop music equipmentntom, or motif) but you oughtta be good with all that other stuff. Also, there's protools but I dont know a whole lot about it so I'll leave that up to you

good luck mane... i'm trying to get into producin too but my budget is on the meager side ... hit me up if you got a myspace or somethin where i could listen to your beats
1st buy a microphone ($20)

Throw out all your hip hop CD's, then take the $6000 and build a new music collection that has actual music in it. That's the best thing you could do with your money, because the world needs more hip hop music like you need another hole in your head.
Buy an Akai MPC or good software like SONAR.

And don't forget about hitting up the sampling websites like...
etc.... etc...
